The city series is ongoing; this is part of a new series that will encompass all the elements of racetrack life from both an aesthetic and sociological point of view.
Death Seat is one of two new pieces that I have been working on finishing since May. The title, a racetrack term, refers to the second horse passing on the outside.
I decided to deviate from the finished surface look in order to accentuate the movement and the reality of the various environmental elements; requiring the viewer to step back in order to focus on the complete pictorial width. Close up, its all brushstrokes.
This piece is being introduced at Art Hamptons in Bridgehampton, NY tomorrow night. It will be displayed on a 20' wall with Too Much of Nothing.
thanks very much, it will be interesting to break that glass ceiling with this one
this is an area of work I have wanted to fully explore for quite some time, learning as I go... hoping it all gels as a multiple component series, time will tell I guess
Hey thanks Mark, this was a lot of fun to just let loose without concern for those excruciating details in buildings! and yeah, the jockeys are some cool characters for sure
I hesitated in putting it up, as it in of itself is only one of many different aspects on the track that I am working on and thought of waiting to finish more pieces first to give a better idea of the overall direction.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
