Granello di Sabbia by Denis-Peterson Granello di Sabbia by Denis-Peterson
Grain of Sand, completed several weeks ago, was painted specifically for a show La Mia Africa opening tonight in Como, Italy.

I am currently working on a new series, although the urbanscapes will continue. I will be posting a couple of them sometime soon, once I get a chance to take photos.

UPDATE: Grain of Sand showed was well received by the Italian Press at a gala public showing in Como before being shown at a second gallery in Milan. The painting was eventually purchased by the Como gallery owner for her private collection.

OMG, that is just wonderful ! How long did it take? What paints did you use? What is the size of the canvas and could you please upload a detailed picture of it?

Hi and thanks very much .. this painting was executed with etac airbrush acrylics mixed with acrylic resins/some sable brush. It's 24"x28" stretched canvas and took around a month or so to complete, best I can recall.

You can try my website pic which may show more detail, as it will likely be difficult to find closeups since the piece was sold a while back. [link]

Thanks again.

SO... it was painted with airbrush and not by using paintbrushes?

No, I used both airbrush and sable brushes in this one, but utilized the same paints with both.

wow this is one of the most extraordinary pieces of art i have ever seen, i wouldn't be able to tell if it was a painting, if it didn't say, the details are immense & the person is incredibly eycatching to look at, i love how you portray the expression & the emotion of the person
